Cecil Jones Attuquayefio formal ghana coach died at the age of 70.

Former Ghana and Benin coach Cecil Jones Attuquayefio has died at the age of 70, following a long battle with cancer.

The former international died at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra, Ghana    hospital on Tuesday morning,

Mr. Attuquayefio, popularly known as the Millennium Coach chalked several of his successes as a coach when he was in the
helms of affairs at Accra Hearts of Oak.

He led Hearts of Oak to win the CAF Champions League in 2000 as well as the CAF Super Cup. He also led Hearts to win the maiden CAF Confederation Cup against their archrivals Asante Kotoko.

Attuquayefio was assistant coach as Ghana won Africa's first Olympic medal in 1992, when the Black Meteors took bronze, while
he also coached the Black Starlets to third place in the 1999 Fifa Under-17 World Cup.

He was named Africa’s Coach of the Year in 2000. He also led Benin to their first ever Africa Cup of Nations in 2004 in Tunisia.
