A Commissioner of Police, Mr Patrick Timbillah has been placed under house arrest by the Police administration over his alleged involvement in the recent police recruitment scam.
He was placed under house arrest after he was implicated by some of the victims of the recruitment fraud. The special taskforce which was set up to investigate the matter is said to have seen text message evidence and other correspondence between him and the victims.
The special taskforce therefore recommended his interdiction for fear of interfering with the ongoing investigations.
Since the beginning of the investigation, about 12 persons including two Police officers are in the grips of the Police for scamming innocent Ghanains and issuing fake recruitment letters.
