Richard Asante popularly known as Kalybos has denied reports he and other
crew members were arrested in China while they shooting their maiden movie there.
The actor in an interview with Peace FM’s Akwasi Aboagye said on the Entertainment Review Show that the crew only had a minor confrontation with some police officers in China because they were shooting the a movie without an interpreter.
He recounted that, as they were on location shooting the movie, some officers close by approached them and requested their permit which they couldn’t readily produce. The police halted the production and demanded to see their interpreter who arrived a while later.
“We were not taken to the police station. They only asked to see our interpreter before allowing us continue shooting so
immediately our interpreter came everything was settled and we continued with our work” he said.
The movie “Kalybos In China” was shot in
Dubai, China and Ghana is set to be premiered on April 3, 2015 at the Silverbird Cinemas.
